About Us
Hello!
"Us," as far as the soap making is concerned, is me, Mary Humphrey. I run the business and much of the daily operation of the farm.
Farm life keeps us busy as a family. We enjoy raising our small herd of goats on our southwest Ohio farm. Our full menagerie also includes boxer dogs, a few livestock guard dogs, and barn cats (that think they are pampered queens since they get to feast on warm goat milk twice a day).
People often ask us, "Why goats?" We can think of no better animal to provide milk and pure entertainment.
We always have goats "in milk" on our farm, and this means we have a nice quantity of fresh milk on hand year round. I milk twice a day, pasteurizing what I collect once or twice a day (depending upon the season and volume). We drink the milk ourselves, make cheese for our own use, and last but not least, make goat milk soap.
In our spare time (which is generally on the farm for me), and during my working hours, you will find us in our farm shop crafting soap on one side of the wall, and woodworking on the other. We find both to be very enjoyable functions of our farm!
